What This Site Does
New York makes many custody and court records available through public portals, but Richmond County has an unusual structure. People arrested on Staten Island may pass through local court holding, then enter a citywide jail system if a judge orders them held. Other custody types are tracked outside the local jail process.
This site is built to make those differences clearer. It explains public lookup concepts, the court-record trail that follows an arrest, the limits on ordinary mugshot access, and the facilities connected to Richmond County custody.
What You Will Find
The core pages focus on the records people usually need after a Staten Island arrest or jail commitment.
- Custody lookup help through jail inmate records, jail roster mugshots, and court records after a jail arrest.
- Facility pages for NYC DOC Rikers Island facilities, Richmond County Criminal Court holding, and Bellevue Hospital Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units.
- Plain-language notes on how city jail, prison, federal, and immigration custody records differ.
- Records access context for booking information, court records, New York FOIL requests, and New York Criminal Procedure Law sealing limits.
What This Site Cannot Do
Richmond County Inmate Population is privately run. It is not part of NYC DOC, the New York State Unified Court System, DOCCS, any sheriff's office, any jail, or any corrections agency.
- It cannot release, hold, move, or transfer a person in custody.
- It cannot post bail, arrange a visit, deposit money, or change a jail account.
- It cannot provide legal advice or speak for an attorney, court, prosecutor, or corrections office.
- It cannot create, edit, seal, or remove official booking, court, or custody records.
Use this site as a records-navigation aid, not as an official custody action, legal filing, or government response.
Search Partners
Some pages may include search tools supplied by outside providers. Those providers control their own results, prices, signup terms, and data practices. If a visitor follows a partner tool to a paid service, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the public reference pages available without charging for ordinary browsing.
